Physical Characteristics

- Flexibility: Semi-Flexible. While the stranded core allows for some movement, the thick dielectric makes it relatively stiff and difficult to bend sharply.
Common Connector Types
- PL-259 (UHF): The de facto standard connector for HAM radio and CB radio equipment.
- N-Type (Male/Female): The professional standard for VHF/UHF base stations and Wi-Fi antennas.
- SO-239: The chassis-mount version of the PL-259, typically found on the back of radios.

- Economical Performance: It offers performance very close to the premium LMR-400 cable but at a lower cost, though it has higher loss than LMR-400 at higher frequencies (UHF/4GHz).

Important Note: RG213 vs. LMR-400
- RG213: Uses solid polyethylene dielectric. Good performance, economical, widely available. Slightly higher loss than LMR-400 at UHF.
- LMR-400: Uses foam polyethylene dielectric. Lower loss, better shielding, higher price.
- Recommendation: For HF and VHF (30-150 MHz), RG213 is excellent and saves money. For UHF or 4G/5G (above 400 MHz), LMR-400 is recommended for longer runs to minimize signal loss.
