Physical Characteristics
- Nominal OD (Outer Diameter): 10.3 mm (0.405 inches) — Significantly thicker than RG6 (6.9mm).

- Flexibility: Rigid. Due to its thick core and large diameter, RG11 is stiff and difficult to bend. It is not suitable for tight corners or tight spaces.
Common Connector Types
- F-Type (RG11 Size): The standard connector for CATV, satellite, and internet. Note: RG6 F-connectors will not fit RG11.
- BNC (RG11 Size): Used in high-end video or data backbones.
- Compression Connectors: Recommended over crimp-style for RG11 to ensure a proper seal on the thicker dielectric.

- Backbone Cabling: Used as the "main line" in a building before splitting the signal to individual rooms (where RG6 would then be used).
- CCTV Systems: For long outdoor runs between cameras and the central recorder to prevent video signal loss.
Important Note: RG11 vs. RG6
- RG6: Thinner, cheaper, easier to install. Best for runs under 50-70 meters.
- RG11: Thicker, more expensive, harder to install. Best for runs over 70 meters.
- Installation Tip: If you are running cable through walls or conduits, ensure the pathway is straight. RG11 cannot navigate sharp 90-degree turns easily and may kink, which destroys the cable's performance.
